Phil Ting
Phil Ting has represented the 19th district since 2013. Before being elected to the Assembly, he served as San Francisco’s Assessor-Recorder. According to his website, Ting “has authored a number of breakthrough measures.”
Ting’s priorities include college affordability, gun control, urban infrastructure, and civil rights.
John McDonnell
John McDonnell is a community member and business tax attorney. He believes the purpose of government is to “secure and promote the rights of individuals.”
McDonnell’s priorities include improving the quality of K-12 education, developing medical treatment options to reduce homelessness, and promoting policies to protect against crime.
